Gliding By - a Frost Designed Downeast-style motor yacht

Gliding By, a Frost designed Downeast-style wood motor yacht came to us last fall in need of upkeep and upgrades.

Repairs were made to woodwork on both the interior and exterior.  The varnish was redone using high quality Epifanes products.  Only a few minor repairs were needed to hull planking.  After the hull was repaired, she was sanded, then sprayed with Pettit EZPoxy for a beautiful finish.

Major work was done to the AC and DC wiring in the boat, including installing a new charger/inverter, 110v outlets, and USB charging hubs both at the helm and down below.

The old water tank was removed and replaced along with all the corresponding water lines and pump.  The gray water system had a new tank installed as well as replacing all the hoses.

We removed all the old navigation equipment.  We installed a new Garmin 7610 MFD with Garmin xHD 18" radome.  We also networked in their Standard Horizon GX1500 VHF to accommodate the distress and DSC calling features.  To complete the system an Airmar DT800 was installed to provide accurate depth readings wherever the boat goes.

Like most wood boats she leaked a little when we launched her in the spring, the new forward bilge pump we installed, really helped in this situation.  You can see this boat in Camden Harbor during the summer, and look for her out in Penobscot Bay!
