Max began his career at Johanson Boatworks at the age of 14, starting as a charter dock assistant. Growing up in a family passionate about boating, he spent his summers working in the yard’s charter division, gaining extensive experience with boats of all sizes. After college, Max transitioned into a full-time role at JBW, committing himself to learning every aspect of boat repair and maintenance. His journey reflects a rise from rigging and charter manager to a key employee, significantly expanding his expertise. In 2016, Max became certified as an NMEA 2000 and MEI installer. He further enhanced his skills by completing the American Boatbuilders and Repairers Association’s Certified Marine Service Manager course. Today, he leads the team at JBW, managing crew operations and assisting customers with all their boating needs. In his spare time, Max enjoys boating with his family and their dog, Lilly.
